Today we bring you some helpful tips and ideas to transform barn wedding venues into a truly romantic and unique – courtesy of our preferred supplier Academy Productions.
The beauty of Barn wedding venues is that they are incredibly versatile and come in all shapes and sizes – from rustic and charming, to suave and modern. Lillibrooke Manor is a unique wedding venue that manages to tick all those boxes and more! The beauty of this exclusive hire venue, licenced for weddings ceremonies, is that it works equally well throughout the whole year. Choosing your own finishing touches will make it uniquely yours – here are some of our inspiring ideas to help you see the type of thing that can be done.
Winter and autumn weddings
With limited daylight hours, the colder months allow for dramatic lighting options that will be enjoyed for the duration of the event. Once the light begins to fade, stunning architectural up lighting on outdoor buildings or large trees make a grand statement. Uplighters after the ceremony in the Small Barn can be moved into the Engine Room for the evening to cosy-up the space further, in addition to a fairy light curtain draped across the entire width of the windows. Oxblood Chesterfield sofa and high-backed chairs with a matching table create a relaxing space for your guests.
The Great Barn is perfect for suspending stunning fairy or festoon light canopies, highlighting the grand beamed vaulted ceiling. All our canopies are dimmable so the mood can transition easily from day to night. They are also available in warm or cool white, giving the option for a magical Winter Wonderland theme. Giant rustic light up letters and lit willow trees brighten a dark corner and provide a fun photo opportunity. A stock or custom-made gobo (stencil style lighting effect) projection is an original way to introduce the first dance and provide a point of difference to the dancefloor area.
Spring and Summer weddings
Spring and Summer demand less lighting and more colour. Decorative accessories such as paper pom-poms and lanterns can create a festival vibe and be coordinated to work with your wedding theme. Colour changing uplighters complete the look in the Engine House.
Venue styling
Faux blossom trees bring a soft, light touch to contrast against the oak beams in the Great Barn and work beautifully as centrepieces or to frame an entrance, together with polished coach lanterns, which can be transported from the Small Barn ceremony where they lined the aisle.
Outdoor spaces can be maximised in balmy weather with teak tables, chairs and matching parasols, placed on the Manor House garden manicured lawn for post-ceremony drinks served from a wine barrel bar. Modern style, unobtrusive poseur tables or single barrels can be dotted around as a gathering point for guests to rest their drinks.
