We believe that your wedding day is all about you. We work with every couple to create a bespoke and unique day that can be enjoyed with your nearest and dearest.
Whatever your taste or style, your wedding is in safe hands with one of the most picturesque wedding locations in Berkshire, Lillibrooke Manor.
Today we’re looking back at some of the most memorable weddings we’ve hosted recently. For today’s spotlight, we’ll be taking you through how we made Gemma and Jack’s wedding dreams a reality, even after the date had to be pushed back during lockdown!
Gemma and Jack’s love story
The aisles of Waitrose may not sound like the usual place for love to blossom, but that’s exactly how romance started for Jack and Gemma. After working together, the pair started dating once Jack left his job to work for the police.
While planning to tie the knot, the pair knew that Lillibrooke Manor was the only venue that they could imagine exchanging vows at and started to organise their dream Winter wedding…until Covid happened, and their big day was pushed back from December 2020 to August 2021.
After a quick change from navy dresses and charcoal suits to a more summer appropriate sage and blue colour palette, the pair knew that no matter the season, their wedding would be a special day to remember for the rest of their lives.
“Even with the change of seasons, we didn’t need to change any of our suppliers as Lillibrooke adds so much sparkle we didn’t need to change anything! We knew changing from December to August everyone would be so happy to be out
and about anything about our day would be special” – Gemma and Jack
Adding the special touches to their big day
Gemma and Jack knew that they wanted a venue with a bar, dance floor and wedding reception all in one, which is why they decided to go with the idyllic location of Lillibrooke Manor.
Even though they didn’t want to change too much of the beautiful interiors, they made sure to add their own special touches to make the day uniquely theirs.
With Jack being a police officer, they couldn’t refuse the option of having a Krispy Kreme doughnut tower and matching doughnut cake to cut into.
Then, for the evening’s entertainment, the couple invited The Chip Shop Boy’s, whose lead singer was a friend from the couples’ Waitrose days.
High-quality catering services
Creating a menu to remember can often be a challenge for couples, but with help from the team at Lillibrooke Manor, Gemma and Jack decided on a showstopping menu that impressed every one of their guests:
Starter – Duo of duck
Main – Beef bourguignon
Desserts – Creme brûlée
“Everybody that we spoke to after the wedding said every part of the food was AMAZING! A lot of people thought they wouldn’t like the duo of duck as duck isn’t a thing you’d usually have however when served to them they were blown away!” – Gemma and Jack
A day to remember and advice for other couples
After celebrating their magical day at Lillibrooke Manor, we asked Gemma and Jack what their favourite moment was:
“Best bit of the day was going from the first dance to straight into the band! The band were there all night and it made our night! If I would recommend anything to a future couple it would be getting a band!” – Gemma and Jack
And when asked if they had any tips that they would give to future couples looking to plan their special day:
“Spend time with each other!! Take 5 minutes to appreciate everything!! We had 10 minutes to sit on the bench outside the great barn before we got announced in as Mr and Mrs Baker and that was PERFECT! To realise we had done it! And now the fun could begin!” – Gemma and Jack
