From Blind Date to Forever: Our Love Story
Our story began on a blind date back in 2016, and from that moment, everything just clicked. We embraced the old-fashioned style of dating, meeting up once a week for new adventures, and often getting so lost in conversation that we outlasted the restaurant staff. In December 2020, right in the heart of the pandemic, we moved into our first home together—spending so much time just the two of us was challenging but incredibly rewarding. Three years later, Jack proposed to me in our favourite place, the Cotswolds. It was simple, perfect, and just us. Less than a year after that beautiful moment, we walked down the aisle at Lillibrooke, ready to start the next chapter of our lives together.

Love at First Sight: The Seamless Flow of Lillibrooke
We knew we wanted a rustic setting for our wedding. We love the Cotswolds style, but couldn’t drag our grandparents across to the Cotswolds. Lucky for us, we found the best of both worlds in Lillibrooke. We saw Stanlake first, and love this venue. We decided to take a punt and look at Lillibrooke. As soon as we walked in and were shown around the venue, with the flow, we were in love and booked straight away. The way the venue flowed through each stage of the wedding worked perfectly for us, we wanted it to be seamless and not an in-and-out venue. Lillibrooke was the perfect venue and the perfect setting to feel as though you are out in the country enjoying a rustic wedding day.
Elegant Touches & Personal Details: Making Our Day Uniquely Ours
When planning our wedding, we wanted every detail to reflect us—simple, elegant, and totally personal. We skipped traditional bridesmaids and let the day’s look come together naturally as we shopped for suits and chose navy and blush pink accents. Surprising our guests with little details and meaningful touches was so important, from writing our own vows that celebrated our eight-and-a-half years together, to making sure the day felt uniquely ours, with as little outside influence as possible. Every choice we made, from colour schemes to special moments, was designed to create a sophisticated but relaxed atmosphere and a day we’d remember forever.

We created our own bits and pieces including place cards, our vow cards and the mum’s readings. We incorporated our mums into our day a bit more as Lauren’s dad would take centre stage walking her down the aisle and we wanted them to be a bigger part of it. We had family members help with the setting up, including one of Lauren’s aunties who had flown all the way from Australia. Lauren’s mum made our cupcakes for guests (assisted by Lauren’s auntie) and these were the perfect end to all the lovely food we had throughout the day.
From Canapés to Pizza: A Foodie’s Wedding Dream
We loved the amount of canapes that were ferried about between our guests, including the platter that was left for us to enjoy (as much as we could!). We are big foodies and one of our draws to Lillibrooke was the quality of the food that was on offer, and Lillibrooke did not disappoint on the day. The starter was a nice sharer to get everyone speaking to each other. Our favourite course was the pudding (chocolate and caramel tart). In the evening, we had the wood-fired pizza’s and these were a hit with guests and with us. We finished the pizzas at 2am after finishing celebrating in the Manor House after the day was done and they were just as delicious then as they were piping hot.
The day was fabulous and we couldn’t have asked for more.
