The Spring/summer wedding season here at Lillibrooke well and truly kicked off again this weekend as Amy and Alan tied the knot with a beautiful day!
After the vows at St Michaels Church in Bray, the happy couple arrived at Lillibrooke for the reception in one of Henley Classic Cars’ best, a beautiful grey classic Jaguar. The vintage wedding car certainly had the wow factor as it drove up Lillibrooke’s picturesque tree-lined drive, dotted with springtime daffodils.
Having met at University, the couple had dated for 9 years before getting engaged, so Amy and Alan were a couple who knew each other well. They went for simple rustic styling, and Spring was certainly in the air with flowers by Maggie Jans – the soft purples and yellows of the tulips set against the pretty white-framed mini blackboards which acted as name cards and menus on the centre of the tables, all handwritten by Amy and complemented by led candles in little silver jars.
The Groovestones set the tone for the evening with some great renditions and even got a conger line going right the way around the barn, with pretty much every guest joining in – the atmosphere was fantastic and everyone had a great time, with popular songs getting everyone up and dancing the night away!
Their homemade photo booth was another thing that almost every guest got involved in, having a brilliant time posing behind a giant gold picture frame with various props (and nibbling on treats from the sweetie table whilst waiting their turn!).
All in all, thank you to Amy and Alan for kicking off this year’s crazy-busy wedding season in style – watch out 2016, we’re coming to get you!
