Lillibrooke Manor and wedding barns is the perfect spot for any kind of wedding. We’ve held traditional English, Indian, Chinese, vintage, modern, alternative, shabby chic, glam and rustic, to name but a few. Our beautiful barn rental in Maidenhead can be turned to whatever your heart desires, whether that is a chic country house wedding or true rustic barn wedding. Hannah and Gem were our first same sex couple to get married at Lillibrooke in October 2014, and their day was wonderful, with lots of handmade touches and pretty vintage elegance. This was a couple who knew what they wanted, and what they wanted was vintage.

They arrived at Lillibrooke Manor and barns to set up on the Friday, full of bubbly excitement, and proceeded to deck out the Great Barn with bunting, strung up across the beautiful beamed ceiling. They created the rustic wedding venue they envisaged with floral runners adorning the tables, alongside vintage jugs with roses and gypsophila, charming vintage crockery, and topped off with lots of vintage lace, all very in keeping with the image of a quintessentially English afternoon tea party.  Vintage chic continued throughout their entire day, in every tiny detail they placed around the amazing wedding barns – their beautiful shoes and wedding rings could have been straight out of a museum, their cake was placed inside a lovely white birdcage and their bridesmaids wore floral 50’s style dresses.

When Hannah and Gem arrived at Lillibrooke Manor on the day, the atmosphere was very emotional, with each bride being walked down the petal-scattered aisle by her father. They had written their own touching vows and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house by the end of the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the guests emerged into the warm Autumn sunshine in the Cloister Garden for the outdoor drink reception, which was again made special by their wonderful vintage touches – lemonade bottles with brightly coloured straws, vintage wooden crates and polka-dot Mrs & Mrs signs help up by bridesmaids for group shots. They were then whisked away for a short drive in a fantastic VW Campervan, giving them some really unique shots and a bit of privacy to reflect on their new status as a married couple!

The pictures here were all taken by their wonderful photographer – Paul Mockford – who perfectly captured the happiness of the day in fun and vibrant shots. He was with the couple all day, beginning by carefully extracting the two dresses from the separate rooms to get lovely shots of them hanging side by side, and followed their day right through to the evening dancing.
