With all the work that’s been going on over the last year or so, it really feels like we’re starting 2017 as a new Lillibrooke!  We have new doors, new windows, new heating site-wide, new kitchens on the way – and there’s still more to come! Over the last year, Lillibrooke has played host to lots of fun and exciting events – lots of fabulous weddings of course, but also lots of corporate clients coming onsite for conferences, smaller meetings, team building, filming, parties and dinners, product launches and Christmas events.

We’ve welcomed clients such as Three Mobile, Microsoft, Allied Bakeries, Shed of the Year filming, Lego, GSK, British Gas, Intel, to name but a few. Some of the corporate events we’ve had have been standard conference set outs, with theatre or cabaret-style seating (making the most of our state of the art AV system and big screens!), and breakout areas for team work sessions, breaks and food.  This works well at Lillibrooke with our many different areas and with all the new heating, all areas can be used all year round, with guests feeling snug even on the very coldest days! Others have gone a little more creative and have brought sofas for their guests to enjoy presentations in comfort, or created walk-through AV presentations or tasting sessions in the Engine House for their guests to enjoy during breakout sessions, or have had fun post-conference activities like rounders in the fields, team building games, BBQ’s or garden party receptions.

Some clients this year have chosen to completely transform Lillibrooke’s barns and fully theme the spaces.   We had a medieval banquet Christmas party where guests were supplied with full medieval dress and the barn was filled with gargoyles, suits of armour, severed heads and dragons!  Guests drank from silver goblets and sat on benches at tables running down the centre of the room (apart from the CEO who sat on a throne at the head of the table!).

Another corporate client chose to theme in a barn dance style – obviously, the Great Barn at Lillibrooke lent itself beautifully to this theme, but with all the added extras, it looked amazing!  Tables were covered with red gingham, hay bales lined the sides of the Great Barn, black and white cow skin pattern balloons were dotted around, there were country meadow flowers in jam jars and it all looked fabulous!  The barn dance itself was great, with all guests joining in and the caller ensuring that everyone kept up with the steps. Circus is another style we’ve had a couple of times, but one of our corporate Christmas parties went all out and the barn was flamboyantly circus-themed with enormous orange and yellow feathers adorning the tables, a different gold animal on each table centre, full size carousel horses dotted around, a fire juggler greeting guests as they entered the Great Barn courtyard and fairground stalls set up in the Engine House (complete with candyfloss!).

All in all, 2016 was a fun year at Lillibrooke, with lots of changes, updates, exciting events and new clients and we’re looking forward to more fun and games in 2017, so come and join us and see what Lillibrooke can offer you
