Lillibrooke is a hidden gem. So hidden in fact, that until fairly recently there weren’t even any road signs leading to our amazing wedding barns! This was quickly remedied by the new owners and it is now an easy route (close to M4, M40 and easy access from London) to what we think is one of the best wedding and event venues near London! Despite being about half an hour from London and just a quick hop off various motorways, you feel like you are a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life when you arrive at Lillibrooke, taken back in time to a beautiful old historical country Manor house and its beautiful barns, surrounded by picturesque orchards and walled gardens. As soon as you arrive you relax and settle into Lillibrooke. Whether you are looking for a rustic country wedding, a venue for a corporate meeting or training, or getting active on team building exercises, you can’t help but switch off and get caught up in Lillibrooke’s own little world. Create a magical outdoor party venue with hanging Edison light bulbs in the Great Barn Garden, a fairy world for a children’s party in the orchard, or enjoy a luxurious conference for up to 180 with high spec AV equipment, in truly unique surroundings! Whatever you are looking for, Lillibrooke will deliver.
Lillibrooke started its life way back in 1376, and the manor house has been known by many names over its long history, finally settling on the Lillibrooke we know and love! The current Manor House was built by the Martyn family, who used it when popping into the Royal Court in Windsor and it has been a working farm since 1841 (see, we really are a truly rustic venue!). In 2015, it came under new ownership again and has been improved and enhanced, entering a new phase in its long and colourful life, to become a magnificent wedding and event venue near London.
Over its more recent history, apart from being an amazing setting for a country wedding, a special party venue and a unique conference hall, Lillibrooke has been a filming location, playing host to various film crews and a few famous faces. With all the space and wonderful backdrops we have, there is room for even the largest of film crews to de-camp for long periods! It can be dressed or naked, with the high beamed ceilings and wide floor space, most staging or sets will fit inside, or you can use the great outdoors for a more rural, country shoot. Our Great Barn was used as a shoot location to stage George Clarke’s (of Channel 4’s George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces) Shed of the Year awards,Binky held a barn dance for the Made in Chelsea crew (Series 5, episode 7), and Alex arranged a beautiful wedding for Kara in Don’t tell the Bride, complete with fairground rides and hay on the tables!
So our multi-functional Lillibrooke really is the sum of its parts – whether you’re looking for hall hire, a unique wedding venue or a UK film location, Lillibrooke has what you are looking for – the beautiful old Manor House (a stunning backdrop to any photo), the majestic Great Barn, the rustic Small Barn, the elegant Bride’s Dressing Room, which, along with all of the wonderful gardens, orchards and cloistered areas, provide all the space you could possibly ever want. Let your imagination run wild here at Lillibrooke where we can turn our hand to anything and everything, and have fun doing it! Why not come along and see what we think makes us one of the most amazing venues in Berkshire!
